Lauren Lavera claims she’s only seen part of this movie
Line of Events
A budding art restorer travels to a small Italian village to restore a medieval painting to its former glory. Little does she know that she’s putting her life in danger due to an evil curse and a monster born of myth and brutal pain.
The story begins with the main character, a painting restorer, traveling to Italy for a (duh!) painting restoration job
When I read the synopsis, I thought, “Great, finally a horror movie that isn’t about a bunch of friends getting killed, or a family moving into a haunted house, etc.” Well, unfortunately it doesn’t deliver what it could have. Along the way, she meets some guys, who are traveling to a different destination, but end up as prisoners in the same mansion.
This is where things start to go wrong
The movie immediately descends into torture porn the moment these prisoners are shown, which distracts from the supernatural theme and adds little to the story. And who’s that fat, inbred son of a bitch walking around downstairs?
Why is he wearing that stupid face paint?
He adds little to the story other than being the person who performs some mundane torture scenes. The so-called pit, which gives the film its title, actually plays a minor role in the whole scheme of things, and perhaps a different title would have been appropriate.
It’s a shame, because this movie really had potential
The ending is a total letdown and anticlimax, with lackluster acting from almost every character involved, except perhaps Lauren LaVera, who somehow manages to carry the whole thing and make the most of it. Oh well, I’m sure all those low-IQ bloodhounds that infest the horror fanbase will have some fun with this.
